58TH ANNUAL NATIONAL DRAWING AND SMALL SCULPTURE SHOW

The Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show attracts works by contemporary artists across the country and is judged by a guest juror of national stature.

This year’s esteemed juror is Mark H. Cowardin, an accomplished sculptor whose work centers on the complex relationship to natural resources embodied by the American Midwest. Cowardin lives and works in Kansas, and he is an Associate Professor of Art at Johnson County Community College.

94th ANNUAL JURIED ARTISTS EXHIBITION OPENS AT SAN ANTONIO
ART LEAGUE & MUSEUM
 
The San Antonio Art League Museum (SAALM) presents its 94th Juried state-wide exhibition, which opens to the public on Sunday, April 14th, 2024.  Juried by Heather Lunsford, Director and Curator of the Nona Jean Hulsey Gallery at Oklahoma City University, the exhibition features 61 works by Texas artists which were chosen from a field of over 500 submissions.
Fourteen awards totaling over $13,000 will be presented to the selected artists at the Public Opening on April  The prestigious Onderdonk Purchase Prize has been the Exhibition’s major award for most of its history. The San Antonio Art League purchases this chosen piece for its Permanent Collection annually, thus continuing to acquire an example of the best in Texas art every year.
The exhibition opens with an Exhibition Eve preview event on Saturday, April 13, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the San Antonio Art League. The Juror will be present to speak to the content of the exhibition and its place in the landscape tradition, and the awards will be announced. Presentation of the awards to the chosen artists will take place the following day at the Public Opening, Sunday, April 14, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.

Artists Lenise Perez-Miller and James Miller, from Cat Dog Ceramics, will be at Sweatt House Art Gallery featuring Fine Art work in a group exhibition. Plus, we will have a booth set up out back with our pottery. Stop by and see great art and meet fellow artists and craftsman.
